Hi i'm Pat and I am thrilled to be part of the design team here at Crafty Devils.
I live in Devon in an old farmhouse. I have two adult (?) children, one of which has flown the roost and my daughter still lives at home with myself, husband my father 3 boxers and two ponds full of fish.
I guess I have crafted for most of my life in one form or another. I self-taught myself knitting and crocheting when young as, being left-handed, I did everything backwards! I did all my children's knitting when they were young.
The crafting side of me was put on the shelf while they were small and I went back to work in Admin. Although I still have my spinning wheel and we would spin wool and make felt, then dye it with natural dyes - onion skins, beetroot etc. My love of getting 'messy' started a long time ago
Several years ago I became very annoyed with trying to find cards to suit my means. So I decided to make my own and that is where my addiction began.............now I find that it takes up most of my time!!!!
My favourite techniques are stamping and embossing and altered art. I look at altered art as recycling, rather than throw a box, beer mat or free CD away, I turn it into something else! I also love distressing techniques and working with die cut moutboard as there is so much you can do with it which I am pleased to say my Big Shot cuts through no problem. I am a member of a great forum where I have met some fantastic crafters all of whom are very talented, it's a great place to share ideas. We have a lot of challenges and swaps, mostly ATC's (artist trading cards), fat pages, circle journals and inchies and recently altered art most of which I take an active part in.
