Exploding Box
Exploding Boxes have become very popular to give as an alternative for a card. They can contain a small gift or even be used at Christmas instead of Crackers containing a small item.

step 1
Taking the templates for the two sizes of square exploding box and lid draw around them on the sheets of A4. If you 'square off' the corners, these can be used as mats as embellishments.
Cut them out and score as seen in the picture
Step 2
Stamp the images on the outside of the box and colour as desired.
Step 3
Turning the larger piece over and the smaller square using the squares from the corners, trim these down and mat and layer using another colour of choice. I have used silver mirri card.
Step 4
Stamp a large butterfly on each of the larger 4 squares and smaller ones on the inner squares. Using the left over pieces from the 2 A4 sheets, stamp further images and again on the vellum.
Colour all of these in, I have also stamped a large butterfly on the lid of the box.

Step 5
Using a dries clear glue, layer the cut out butterflies on the stamped images on all the squares.
By using vellum, it will curl slightly which will add dimension and movement to the project.
Glue the centre of the smaller piece to the larger piece as shown.

Step 6
Assemble the lid and add ribbon around the edge and a bow on the top with the butterfly
